Hello all! I'm Brittni and I wanted to join to hopefully make more friends in the area!
I moved to West Virginia to be with my g/f and have lived here 3 years. I must say I love this state including its crazy weather!
We technically live in Cameron but for school we have an apartment in Wheeling.

Open For Business No More!
Those signs along the interstate that now say "Open For Business"? The ones we all HATE? Governor Manchin has finally seen the error of his ways and put it up for an unofficial vote on our WV websites. Visit www.wva.state.wv.us
to vote! After the initial results are in, they will have another vote to select the permanent slogan. Go! Now! Vote! Make them remove those horrendous "Open For Business" signs!

Anyone been to the lights yet? I just moved here a few weeks ago, and I'm excited to go (I went to college at Bethany, so we used to go all the time). Anything new and exciting?
Also, anyone know if the Good Zoo closes during the winter months? Or know of any other fun activities in Oglebay? I know they used to have the mansion decorated for xmas...but I wasn't sure if they still did that or not.

Wild 'N Wonderful...
I lived in Wheeling from roughly 1979 until 1998 when I moved to Morgantown, WV. I currently reside in Nashville, TN, buy my parents live in West Alexander, PA, and many of my friends are still in Wheeling. I do like to keep up with the area though, since I usually come home for Christmas.

Just a couple ideas...
Let's see...there's a Kroger on National Road...don't ask me cross streets, I just know I could find it in my sleep! Where are the Overlook Condos? As far as other places to shop like K-Mart/Wal-Mart, I always ended up driving over to St. Clairsville and going to the mall. Of course you've got that whole Cabella's thing happening now in the Dallas Pike area...all kinds of stuff going on there (I even hear they are putting in a Starbucks. I come home every year for Christmas for 2 weeks, and every year routinely I would know I had to give up my Starbucks addiction for 2 weeks because there just wasn't one to be found unless I wanted to drive to Pittsburgh...and I didn't!).
I've been living in Denver, CO for 10 years now, though, so I am sure someone with newer information can give you a better lay of the land!
Ack, I miss jogging in Oglebay Park now. I even miss the Festival of Lights traffic...now that's
Hi all! I just moved (yesterday!) to Overlook Condos on National Road. Anyone want to give me a rundown of places to be familiar with?
I am BRAND spanking new...if anyone knows anything that would be of help, I'd love to hear it!
